ONE FC's Ben Askren visits Philippines to promote upcoming fight

Ben "Funky" Askren is ONE FC’s newest top signing. At the early age, Askren was influenced by his uncle who’s also a former wrestler to also become one. He then fought his way up and began doing it professionally. Before the Pro days in ONE FC, he also wrestled during his collegiate years. As of today, due to hard work and dedication in keeping his style unbeatable, he recorded 12 Wins with Zero loss, as he proves that his fighting style is best inside the ring.

We, Benteuno.com got the priviledge to meet him in person and had a small talk. During our one on one interview with Askren, he told us that he manage to learn different fighting styles and also a master of jiu-jitsu, but still, his art of grappling left unmatched.

Here are some interesting quotes from Ben during the Q & A on his eat-and-run visit in the Philippines at a gym in Metrowalk Ortigas.

When asked about his change in opponent from a potential title bout to facing Bakhtiyar Abbasov"It doesn't concern me. Injuries are a part of the sport and I'm excited to get back into the cage and compete with whoever ONE FC puts in front of me."

“I’m going to do what I have to do. I am Ben Askren, and that’s how I fight and will always going to fight. It’s a level of perspective. I’m going to do what I need to do." says Askren about his fighting style

When asked if ever he interested in  teaching wrestling in the Philippines, "I will love to get that opportunity. The Philippines have produced so many great fighters and if I get that chance, I will definitely do it!"

Is he pressured on this upcoming fight? "I love it! You got to embrace the pressure. I have the pressure for a reason. I'm undefeated and I know there's a target on my back and I want everybody to give me their best fight. I don't want easy fights."

His message to his opponent, Bakhtiyar Abbasov and the rest of the welterweight division, "Be ready! I'm coming!”

Whoa! Ben Askren is all business as he's on to take the winning  this coming May 30 in Singapore.

Kevin Durant named MVP: What time is it? It's KD's time!

Scorer, playmaker, finisher, boards, Kevin Durant(KD) got them all. An overall player in the hardwood and respected off the court. He even got the moniker Durantula because of his long arms and great leaping skills, whenever he slams the basket for a monster dunk!

We first saw him at the pages of Slam Magazine(ish 106, to be confirmed). He got featured as a skinny player whose potential in joining the league is still in question during that time. But now he's all grown up, slamming boards, winning games, and making fans of the opposite team cry.

A few days back(May 1), news went all over the internet that his hometown newspaper called him Mr. Unreliable, due to OKC's struggle against Memphis Grizzlies who gave the team a hard time during their matchup this Playoffs.  The wheel has turned and he earns his first MVP. His current strong contender who's just also been named youngest player to score 4000 points (just in the playoffs), Lebron believe that Durant truly deserves to be the MVP this season.

Not only that, +NBA2k just announced that he, Durant, will be fronting the cover of the number 1 basketball game in console, pc, portable to date. He's the face of the upcoming NBA2K15 basketball video game.

Now that the semifinals of the 2013-2014 Playoffs  just started, which do you think will be the strongest or most difficult team KD must face to reach the Finals? And if they make it to the Final, which team would you like them to play with?
