I haven’t used — or even heard — the term music phone in quite some time. But man, it takes me back to the days when having a phone that could blast music loudly and clearly was the thing. Back when it was considered hip and cool to carry a phone that doubled as your portable jukebox.

The nubia Music Pro is a trip down that memory lane — but with modern-day twists. It’s a delight for the eyes, ears, and even the hands. Let’s dive in on its music-rich features and how it performs in real-world listening.

Meet the Nubia Music Pro (aka Nubia Z2460)

This entry-level phone doesn’t just deliver music; it brings in a surprising set of AI-powered features you wouldn’t normally expect at its price point.

True to Nubia’s slogan “Be Yourself,” the phone’s interface and customization options let you make it uniquely yours — something not many entry-level devices offer. From the moment you unbox and power it on, it feels like an experience, with subtle AI touches that make using it more enjoyable the longer you go.

Cons (with a twist)

  • Mediocre camera – but honestly, if you’re buying this phone, it’s for the sound, not the selfies.
  • 10W charging feels slow – yet the 5000mAh battery easily lasts a full day or more, so you’ll charge less often.
  • 4GB RAM only – but Nubia’s Dynamic RAM adds another 4GB virtually, helping apps run smoother than expected.

Triple Speaker System (2.1 Setup)

Most budget phones settle for a dual-speaker system — one at the bottom, one on the earpiece — but Nubia takes it a step further with three speakers. The result? A sound that’s fuller and louder than most phones in its category.

At max volume, it can get really loud — loud enough to fill a small room. It might not match premium flagships in clarity at full blast, but it certainly outperforms many in its price range. Whether it’s music playback or hands-free calls, you’ll hear things clearly from any direction.

If you need an extra push, there’s even a two-level volume booster — though we’d advise against prolonged use at max to protect your ears. It’s that powerful.

Built-in FM Radio

Yes, it still exists — and it’s glorious. You can tune in to local FM stations without internet or even plugging in wired earphones. The Nubia Music Pro automatically scans and saves nearby stations in HD quality.

There’s also an auto-off timer (5–120 minutes) to save battery during late-night listening. Just remember to manually turn off the radio from the app, as simply closing it might not stop playback right away.

For those who still enjoy live DJs, talk shows, or discovering new hits the old-fashioned way — this feature is a winner.

Phone as a Bluetooth Speaker

Here’s one of the coolest tricks up its sleeve: the Nubia Music Pro can actually act as a Bluetooth speaker. You can stream audio from another phone directly into it — perfect for impromptu listening sessions when you forgot your speaker at home.

Why did Nubia include this? Simply because they can, and it works surprisingly well. It’s a fun, quirky feature that adds personality to the phone and shows off Nubia’s experimental spirit.

Design & Aesthetics

The back panel design is an instant conversation starter — inspired by vinyl record players, with vibrant patterns that reflect music’s playful energy. Our Pop Art variant really stands out, with lines and dots reminiscent of comic book art. If you like bold, youthful designs, this is the one to get.

The back also features two LED lights that sync with your music or light up when you get notifications. We tested it on the YouTube app, and it responds to the video's audio in real time. However, the breathing LED does not seem to work with the Prime Video app.

Another thing you will notice right away is Nubia's Live Island, which adds a bit of flair and personality to the phone. While it is more of a visual touch than a functional one, it is still worth mentioning, especially for a device at this budget-friendly price point.

Performance & Daily Use

For basic tasks and music playback, the Unisoc chip performs reliably. Heavy multitasking can occasionally cause slowdowns, especially when several apps are open, but for casual users and music lovers, it’s more than capable.

Streaming live music might lag depending on your connection, so downloading playlists ahead of time is ideal. Thankfully, the 128GB storage gives you plenty of room for songs, podcasts, and even movies.

Gesture navigation is smooth overall, and the UI is lightweight. The Dynamic RAM boost helps maintain decent performance despite the modest hardware.

Verdict: Music Lovers’ Everyday Companion

The Nubia Music Pro may not compete head-to-head with high-end flagships, but it isn’t trying to. It’s a fun, music-first smartphone built for the young, expressive crowd — those who want to carry their sound wherever they go.

If you miss the charm of the old-school music phone era, this is your sign. Nubia Music Pro brings it back — louder, flashier, and with a touch of AI magic.
