Pru Life UK advocates innovation in mobile health technology

Prudential Corporation Asia Chief Health Officer Andrew Wong, shared Prudential’s ambition to make healthcare affordable and accessible to all in the Philippines, at a talk held at the University of Santo Tomas (UST)

“As the Philippines rolls-out their Universal Health Care (UHC) program, Pulse will help the government promote health consciousness among Filipinos,” Wong told more than 250 alumni of the UST Faculty of Medicine and Surgery.

Pulse is an all-in-one app and the first-of-its-kind in Asia, accessible to everyone. Through AI-powered tools and personalised services, Pulse empowers Filipinos to proactively manage their health with round-the-clock access to comprehensive features such as symptom checker, health assessment, as well as health and wellness information.

Wong also highlighted the importance of artificial intelligence (AI) in mobile health technology, and how Pulse is a step towards making health services accessible to Filipinos 24/7 and free-of-charge.

Pulse was introduced in the Philippines in February this year and will soon be available in a total of 11 markets in Asia. The app was first launched in Malaysia last year.

The launch of Pulse in the Philippines is in line with Pru Life UK’s “We DO” commitment. Launched in 2019, “We DO” celebrates the drive and optimism of consumers looking to progress in life, and highlights Pru Life UK as a trusted partner throughout this journey. Pulse demonstrates this commitment as it   partners with users to manage their health and overall well-being.

“As a leading insurer, Prudential is going beyond our core protection, offering to play a larger role in helping people prevent and postpone the onset of diseases. Mobile health technology is an enabler for Prudential to deliver on our commitment to protecting the health and wellness of our customers in every stage of their lives,” Wong said.

Pulse is currently available for free download by all users of Android devices, and soon for all users of IOS devices.
