A Lookback at The Crossfire Elite League (CFEL) Season 2: Visayas Cup

The Crossfire Elite League (CFEL) Season 2: Visayas Cup featured a tournament where the current top 6 teams composed of five players each battle in a Destruction ModeSingle Elimination setting for glory, bragging rights, and cash prizes of up to Php250,000. It was held at SM City Bacolod’s Main Atrium Event Center on June 25, 2016.

The event also featured an exhibition match that featured the Kingston HyperX headset. Visayas was represented by Team Nerve from Cebu, which showed off their skills and battled with one of the Elite League participants, G1Parak. Though G1parak dominated the match and won, Team Nerve still went home with Crossfire merchandise.

The Highlight of the event was the battle between the Top 6 teams of the Crossfire Elite League Season 2 – Visayas Cup. New entries were RebornGT and G1 Parak. Veteran team were Tesports ACGaming, TNCProTeam, and sister teams Pacific Wara and Pacific Macta who were also among the top teams last season.

The playoffs started off with a surprising upset by new entries RebornGT winning against tournament veteran Pacific Wara. It was followed by yet another new entry win by G1Parak as they exchanged round-wins with CFEL-Season 1 participant TTeSports ACGaming. The semifinals was kicked off by RebornGT facing off with and lost to a good fight with TNCProTeam. The other semi-finals match was between team G1parak that struggled and lost to CFEL-Season 1 winner Pacific Macta. Pacific Macta likewise dominated team TNCProTeam in the final match with a 3-0 score securing another Crossfire Elite League win.

Throughout the event, members of the audience further enjoyed as they participated in mini games, raffles, and a trivia contest. Others showcased their talents through Gameclub’s Dance Rally. Headsets, shirts, and other merchandise from both Gameclub and its sponsor-partners were won.

After the fierce day of battles, the players were treated to Bacolod’s finest Inasal chicken and were then taken to Mambukal Resort the next day. Players experienced a nature hike to three of Bacolod’s waterfalls and swan in the water park. The forest offered wonderful sites including the flying fox.

Exciting matches, epic kills, excellent shows of team work along with an audience of over 800 whose energy is at an all-time high.
