Apple Agrees to Acquire Beats by Dre for $3 Billion Dollars

Beats by Dre? Yes! How about Beats by Apple? Whoa! 


The rumors had finally come to an end. Yes folks, Apple, the creators of world-famous products from iPhones, to iPads, iTouch, Retina Display and of course iTunes, has just agreed to purchase Beats Music and Beats Electronics.  According the Apple’s Press release, Apple is purchasing Beats for the a total of $3 Billion USD. Together with this acquisition, Dr. Dre and Jimmy Iovin, Beats co-founders will also join Apple.

What’s with the acquisition? “Music is such an important part of all of our lives and holds a special place within our hearts at Apple,” said Tim Cook, Apple’s CEO. “That’s why we have kept investing in music and are bringing together these extraordinary teams so we can continue to create the most innovative music products and services in the world.” 

Who hasn't heard about the reputable Beats by Dre, that has been widely known to produce studio-quality beats on its portable headphones and earphones. Beats by Dre who was under the Monster before, became instant-famous due to its star-studded endorsers/users like Justin Bieber, Lady Gaga, and Basketball icon/superstar LeBron James. Beats Electronics is the one that caters Beats by Dre premium line of headphones, speakers and earphones. While Beats Music is a premium music-streaming service just like Spotify, where subscribers gets personalized audio experience based from their mood, time, or preferred music genre.

Apple’s deep commitment to music fans, artists, songwriters and the music industry is something special.” In case you didn't know Jimmy, you must've seen him if you are watching American Idol series. Jimmy helps out the contestants show their best by providing them feedback and helping them mix the music of their choice, or at times, Jimmy is the one who selects the song for them.

“Music is such an important part of Apple’s DNA and always will be,” said Eddy Cue, Apple’s senior vice president of Internet Software and Services. “The addition of Beats will make our music lineup even better, from free streaming with iTunes Radio to a world-class subscription service in Beats, and of course buying music from the iTunes Store as customers have loved to do for years.”
