OLYMPUS unveils STYLUS 1: DSLR image quality plus Wi-Fi on a compact body


October 29, Olympus just unleashed a new Stylus model that will follow the success of its older brothers, the XZ-2 and XZ-10. The quality of its shooting are somewhat compared with what the OM-D can do, less the price tag. The Stylus models even before showcased quality imagery on a compact body, while straying away from the concept of an average point-and-shoot.

The 2.8 aperture can help shooters get good images even under low-light conditions. With this constant aperture at 2.8 on different focal lengths, the Stylus 1 can give you good Bokeh and simply focus on the subject that you want to pop-out from the frame.

The Olympus Stylus 1 has built-in art filters w/c is a trademark for Olympus cameras, where you can edit pictures w/o the need of 3rd party SW. Now with the addition of Wi-Fi technology built-in to the camera, it’ll provide you with possibilities that a wireless technology can offer. Your favorite smartphone can control and take shots w/o holding the camera.

 Yes, just like with other great compacts, Smartphones can take control the Olympus Stylus 1 via a dedicated app, where you can select w/c still(s) you’re going to upload.  Your smartphone can also serve as an LCD and make sure that you have that perfect framed shot. Photo enthusiast can take quality pictures on places where DSLRs are prohibited or banned.

Expected release is late November this year and should be around $700 USD.
