A very inspiring movie worth watching ready to tickle our hearts

The Greatest Showman

I was privileged to watch the advance screening of this musical motion picture The Greatest Showman.  A film released by 20th Century Fox, The Greatest Showman portrays the life of PT Barnum played by award winning actor, Hugh Jackman.  It is about the life of a young man, a dreamer and believer.  He rose from rags to riches by continuing chasing his dreams until he was able to achieve it.  His desire to get what he wants for his family is truly inspiring. When he loses his job  as a clerk after the company goes bankrupt, PT Barnum did not wallow in pity, but went on until he got the idea of taking risk in getting a bank loan and buying the old museum to turn it into a “live show” theatre.

The Greatest Showman showcased a great musical show packed in a motion picture you will surely love.  Aside from its nice storyline, you will feast with the smooth moves of the characters as they present their act.  As Anne Wheeler (Zendaya), one of PT Barnum’s performers said “Everyone has an act”, the show truly gives up to its name.

My favorite part of the film was the fantastic performance of Zendaya and Zac Efron singing “Rewrite the Stars” while swinging and hanging on a rope.  Their love story added spice to the show.  I also like how PT Barnum selected or categorized his employs because he did not just hunt for sheer talents but also take notice of the their “freak” features to give the person a boost and confidence of himself, thereby able to face the world.

The Greatest Showman received praises for the cast, music and production value.  It likewise received nominations for Best Motion Picture – Musical or Comedy category, won the Best Actor – Musical or Comedy for Jackman and Best Original Song for “This is Me” by Keana Settle at the 75th Golden Globe Awards.  “This is Me” was also nominated for Best Original Song at the 90th Academy Awards.

All in all, I give this movie two-thumbs up for the spectacular performance of the cast and the show itself.

I’m looking forward to watch it again once it runs on theaters nationwide this 31 January.  Let's go!
