Yahoo! the once known top search engine, before Google and Bing ruled the streets of the Internet, just released their new logo. Celebrate purple as they showed two variants for this classic name and brand. Do you still use your very first Yahoo! Mail account?

Before they came up with this new and final Yahoo! logo, it started with a 30 Days of Change(see video below) where they posted different Yahoo! logos, everyday, until showing the final one.

Yahoo! which was founded sometime in '94  by two students from Standford, David Filo and Jerry Yang, started as a search engine to handle queries. Now Yahoo! handles different web applications from mail, to online storage, acquiring companies here and there. They own the the famous online picture storage Flickr, which now provides up to 1 Terabyte of free online storage for your digital stills.

So what contributed to this new logo? "We wanted a logo that stayed true to our roots (whimsical, purple, with an exclamation point) yet embraced the evolution of our products." - Kathy Savitt, Yahoo's Chief Marketing Officer
